April 2013 Quarterly Newsletter

NEW HIGH-SPEED CMOS SYNCHRONOUS DRAMS WITH 128-MB AND 256-MB DENSITIES IN 54-BALL TFBGA PACKAGE
AS4C8M16S

Alliance Memory is extending its 128M and 256M lines of high-speed CMOS synchronous DRAMs (SDRAM) with new devices in a 54-ball 8 mm by 8 mm by 1.2 mm TFBGA package. These 8M x 16 and 16M x 16 SDRAMs feature fast access time from clock down to 4.5 ns at a 5-ns clock and clock rates of 143 MHz.

The AS4C8M16S-7BCN and AS4C16M16S-7BCN are optimized for medical, industrial, automotive, and telecom applications requiring high memory bandwidth, and are particularly well-suited to high-performance PC applications. They operate from a single +3.3-V (± 0.3 V) power supply and are lead (Pb)- and halogen-free.

Alliance Memory’s legacy ICs provide reliable drop-in, pin-for-pin-compatible replacements for a number of similar solutions. The AS4C8M16S-7BCN and AS4C16M16S-7BCN are the latest in our full line of high-speed SDRAMs, which includes devices with densities of 16 Mb, 64 Mb, 128 Mb, 256 Mb, and 512 Mb in the 54-pin TSOP II, 54-ball TFBGA, 86-pin TSOP II, and 90-ball BGA packages.

To request samples of the AS4C8M16S-7BCN and AS4C16M16S-7BCN, send an E-mail to sample@alliancememory.com.

QUARTERLY CUSTOMER PROFILE: ZYPEX
zypex

THE COMPANY

For going on 20 years, ZYPEX has been offering its customers custom-built products for industrial monitoring and control, with capabilities including conceptual design, design specifications, custom application software, ultra-dense layouts and packaging, RF layout, documentation, testing, and manufacturing. The company’s industrial product designs include process control equipment, electrical substation monitoring and control systems, power monitoring systems, leased-line and dial-up modems, and industrial local-area-networks.

CHALLENGE / SOLUTION

ZYPEX counts a number of high-profile technology companies among its customers, many of whom have come to ZYPEX with problems they have been unable to solve in-house, and usually with no time left to solve them. Part of the company’s success has been based on understanding all aspects of the design cycle, including a product’s eventual manufacturability. The company is also known for designing products that last. Rugged industrial products designed by ZYPEX, Inc. have been in operation for over 20 years, and are still in use today. The need to respond quickly to customer demands with bullet-proof solutions means ZYPEX needs component suppliers that are as responsive as they are—and equally dedicated to delivering the highest quality product..

FROM THE CUSTOMER

“Alliance Memory is known as a supplier of legacy memory ICs but in our case they’re supplying low-power SRAMs for new designs,” says Del Peck, Jr., ZYPEX President and Founder. “Why did we choose Alliance Memory? One reason is because we’re designing hardware for reliable, long-life operation using proven components, and that’s what Alliance Memory delivers. Yes, there is more than one choice of low-power SRAM supplier, but Alliance Memory has been exceptional in their customer service and in delivering product when and where we needed it. Not only are we very satisfied, so are our customers who have continued to source low-power SRAMs from Alliance Memory as specified in our designs.”

FINAL WORD: FROM THE PRESIDENT
dbagbyIt’s hard to believe that this month marks seven years in business for Alliance Memory. To say the time flew is an understatement.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the customers who have put their trust in us. I’d also like to thank our vendors who give us excellent support. It is truly a pleasure to work with such professionals around the world and across all industries.

A lot has happened in seven years. We have acquired new product lines, added many new products, opened sales offices in Europe and Asia, and engaged with some of the world’s best distributors. Our plan is to continue these positive aspects of our business and continue to offer new products and continuously improve our support.

Of course, we will continue to offer legacy memory solutions for long term support to our customers. I encourage any of our customers to contact me directly. My email is David@alliancememory.com. I welcome the chance to engage with you personally.

— David Bagby, President and CEO
