ZYPEX

zypex“Alliance Memory has been exceptional in their customer service and in delivering product when and where we needed it” says Del Peck, Jr., ZYPEX President and Founder.

Challenge/Solution
zypex_cp485ZYPEX counts a number of high-profile technology companies among its customers, many of whom have come to ZYPEX with problems they have been unable to solve in-house, and usually with no time left to solve them. Part of the company’s success has been based on understanding all aspects of the design cycle, including a product’s eventual manufacturability. The company is also known for designing products that last. Rugged industrial products designed by ZYPEX, Inc. have been in operation for over 20 years, and are still in use today. The need to respond quickly to customer demands with bullet-proof solutions means ZYPEX needs component suppliers that are as responsive as they are—and equally dedicated to delivering the highest quality product.

From the Customer
qupte_zypex“Alliance Memory is known as a supplier of legacy memory ICs but in our case they’re supplying low-power SRAMs for new designs,” says Del Peck, Jr., ZYPEX President and Founder. “Why did we choose Alliance Memory? One reason is because we’re designing hardware for reliable, long-life operation using proven components, and that’s what Alliance Memory delivers. Yes, there is more than one choice of low-power SRAM supplier, but Alliance Memory has been exceptional in their customer service and in delivering product when and where we needed it. Not only are we very satisfied, so are our customers who have continued to source low-power SRAMs from Alliance Memory as specified in our designs.”

About ZYPEX
ZYPEX has been offering its customers custom-built products for industrial monitoring and control, with capabilities including conceptual design, design specifications, custom application software, ultra-dense layouts and packaging, RF layout, documentation, testing, and manufacturing. For going on 20 years, the company’s industrial product designs include process control equipment, electrical substation monitoring and control systems, power monitoring systems, leased-line and dial-up modems, and industrial local-area-networks.

wincor_image“We have been an Alliance Memory customer now for four years,” said Linda Lee, commodity manger at Wincor Nixdorf.

wincor_picChallenge/
Solution
Wincor Nixdorf supplies specialized equipment to financial institutions around the world. For systems such as a printer used in back-office banking applications, a reliable source of components is essential to providing customers with the solutions they need, when they need them, at competitive prices. Wincor Nixdorf turned to Alliance Memory when its long-time supplier of legacy memory ICs — a well-known Korean multinational — was unable to improve on normal lead times of four months, or to help Wincor Nixdorf meet its cost targets. This prompted the company to seek out another memory IC manufacturer — and it found Alliance Memory.

From the Customer
“We have been an Alliance Memory customer now for four years,” said Linda Lee, commodity manger. at Wincor Nixdorf. “They havewincor_quote been a great source for the legacy memory ICs we need for our printer application. Not only has Alliance Memory supplied the technical support we need, they have held the line on prices, which helps us to meet our cost target goals. We’re very satisfied with them indeed.”

Wellex

wellex_image“Alliance Memory has done a great job keeping us supplied with low-power SRAMs for one of our very largest customers,” said Pin Hsu, purchasing manager at Wellex Corp.

wellex_picChallenge/Solution
At Wellex, the company’s overriding goal is to enable its customers to get their products to market at the best possible price. Achieving that goals means having component suppliers that not only deliver superior product but are willing to work with Wellex to hold the line on prices. When the company’s Korea-based SRAM supplier went EOL on a 4M low-power SRAM for which the second source was a pricier device sold through a distributor, Alliance Memory stepped in—first as secondary source and then as primary source for the IC.

From the Customer
“Alliance Memory has done a great job for us over the past three years in keeping us supplied with low-power SRAMs for one of our wellex_quotevery largest customers and in making us feel very appreciated—including working with us on a direct-customer basis,” Pin Hsu, Purchasing Manager at Wellex Corp. “It makes a big difference to know we can get parts at the price we need delivered locally to our facility, instead of waiting for them to come from a warehouse half way across the country or around the world. That’s a major plus for us.”

Dinema

dinema_slider“It was becoming difficult to find a reliable supplier for these legacy SRAMs, so we were very pleased to have found Alliance Memory,” says Ivano Bertanza, purchasing manager at Dinema.

dinema_picChallenge/
Solution
Dinema formerly sourced its memory components from suppliers in Japan, then in Korea, then in the United States. But eventually each of its suppliers end-of-lifed the low-power SRAMs that are critical for the circuits it builds for textile machines. Then two years ago, Dinema found Alliance Memory. Since then, Dimena has been purchasing several different low-power SRAMs from Alliance Memory in 256k, 1M, and 8M densities.

From the Customer
“One of our major customers is our owner, the Lonati Group, which manufactures automated knitting machines that are used all over the world and particularly in China,” says Ivano Bertanza, purchasing manager at Dinema.
dinema_quote“For ore than 20 years, we’ve been supplying circuit boards, including SRAMs, for this application, and it’s critical that we have a reliable source for these components. That is one reason we are very pleased to have found Alliance Memory just as it was becoming difficult to find a reliable supplier for these legacy SRAMs. Ever since, we’ve had excellent customer service support, quality, and responsiveness. I would be happy to recommend Alliance to any customer that requires these older SRAMs.”

About Dinema Electronics
Dinema Electronics was founded in 1971 to supply electronic solutions to the textile industry. In 1985, it joined the Lonati Group, which has been manufacturing knitting machines for the textile industry since 1946. Since 1990, Dinema has been addressing a broader market outside the Lonati Group with solutions for medical, automotive, industrial, IT, and consumer applications. The company employs 160 persons and had revenues of about $70 million in 2010.
