The Memory Market Is Changing. Our Commitment to a Stable Supply and Pricing Isn’t
When we started Alliance Memory, it was with a single focus: to ensure a reliable supply of critical memory ICs, even as other suppliers move on. That focus hasn’t changed. In fact, it’s more relevant than ever.
We’re increasingly hearing concern from customers across a variety of industries about the changes they’re seeing from major memory suppliers, including product discontinuations, unexpected decommits, and sudden price increases. And while these shifts may be outside our control, we want to make one thing very clear: Alliance Memory is here for the long term.
Here’s a quick look at some of the disruptions making waves in the memory market right now — and how Alliance Memory is responding:
Major suppliers exiting DDR3 and DDR4 A recent article reports that some leading manufacturers may be pulling back or exiting these product lines. We’re closely monitoring developments, but our message is simple: Alliance Memory continues to support both DDR3 and DDR4.
Industry-wide price increases Companies including Micron and SanDisk have announced price hikes as of April 1. We remain committed to providing cost-effective solutions and maintaining stability for our customers.
A decommit on DDR4 and EOLs on NAND Flash for low-density eMMCs A well-known DDR4 supplier recently walked away from confirmed backlog commitments for DDR4 — an unwelcome surprise for at least one major OEM that has solicited support from Alliance Memory. In addition, the NAND Flash memory that eMMCs rely on is being EOL’d by several suppliers. Alliance Memory has a plan in place to support customers through this change and will be sharing our new die rev soon for long-term support on 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB eMMCs.
Potential new U.S. semiconductor tariffs With uncertainty around tariffs on components from Taiwan, we’re taking proactive steps. We’re moving inventory into the U.S. now to protect our U.S. customers against sudden cost impacts.
Despite these headwinds, Alliance Memory just recorded its best quarter in over a year and a half — and we’re seeing strong backlog moving into Q2. That’s a sign of continued confidence from customers like you.
When you work with Alliance Memory, you don’t have to wonder whether your supplier will still be there next quarter — or next year. We’re committed to long-term support for memory components and providing stable pricing and a predictable supply.
Thanks as always for your continued support.
