ALLIANCE MEMORY ANNOUNCES DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH AVNET MEMEC
Alliance Memory, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with Avnet Memec, one of the world’s largest distributors of electronic components. Under the terms of the agreement, Avnet Memec will offer Alliance Memory’s entire line-up of SRAMs and DRAMs to customers in the United States.
“Avnet has been one of the most trusted names in the electronics industry for more than half a century and its global reach in the electronics supply chain is second to none,” said Dan Gilbert, vice president of sales for Alliance Memory. “Avnet will play a key role in raising the profile of our solutions within the U.S. market and add to the growing number of buyers in the telecom, industrial, and medical markets who are turning to Alliance Memory as a trusted source for legacy memory ICs.”
NEW 4M FAST SRAM IN 48-BALL FBGA PACKAGE
We’re adding to our extensive line of legacy fast asynchronous SRAMs with a new 4M (256k x 16) IC in the 48-ball FBGA package. Alliance Memory’s new AS7C34098A-10BIN can be used as a drop in replacement for devices from several SRAM suppliers.
Designed for memory applications where fast data access, low power, and simple interfacing are essential, the AS7C34098A-10BIN will help to save space in industrial and communications systems with its 8 mm by 10 mm by 1.20 mm BGA package.
For mainstream digital signal processors (DSP) and microcontrollers, our legacy ICs provide reliable drop-in, pin-for-pin-compatible replacements for a number of similar solutions. The AS7C34098A-10BIN is the latest in Alliance Memory’s full range of fast asynchronous SRAM products, which include devices with densities of 256K, 512K, 1M, 2M, and 4M.
Samples and production quantities of the AS7C34098A-10BIN are available now, with lead times of 4 to 6 weeks for production quantities.
ALLIANCE MEMORY SELECTS CHIPMOS TECHNOLOGIES AS 2011 PARTNER OF THE YEAR

QUARTERLY CUSTOMER PROFILE: DINEMA ELECTRONICS
THE COMPANY
Dinema Electronics was founded in 1971 to supply electronic solutions to the textile industry. In 1985, it joined the Lonati Group, which has been manufacturing knitting machines for the textile industry since 1946. Since 1990, Dinema has been addressing a broader market outside the Lonati Group with solutions for medical, automotive, industrial, IT, and consumer applications. The company employs 160 persons and had revenues of about $70 million in 2010.
CHALLENGE / SOLUTION
Dinema formerly sourced its memory components from suppliers in Japan, then in Korea, then in the United States. But eventually each of its suppliers end-of-lifed the low-power SRAMs that are critical for the circuits it builds for textile machines. Then two years ago, Dinema found Alliance Memory. Since then, Dimena has been purchasing several different low-power SRAMs from Alliance Memory in 256k, 1M, and 8M densities.
FROM THE CUSTOMER
“One of our major customers is our owner, the Lonati Group, which manufactures automated knitting machines that are used all over the world and particularly in China,” says Ivano Bertanza, purchasing manager at Dinema. “For more than 20 years, we’ve been supplying circuit boards, including SRAMs, for this application, and it’s critical that we have a reliable source for these components. That is one reason we are very pleased to have found Alliance Memory just as it was becoming difficult to find a reliable supplier for these legacy SRAMs. Ever since, we’ve had excellent customer service support, quality, and responsiveness. I would be happy to recommend Alliance to any customer that requires these older SRAMs.”
FINAL WORD: FROM THE PRESIDENT
The world economy continues to pose challenges for everyone. As a fabless manufacturer we watch very closely how the global financial situation could potentially affect any one of our suppliers. Having key partners in several parts of the world makes this a constant concern. I’ve recently travelled through Europe and Asia visiting with our major distributors and our manufacturing partners. I’m confident that the quality of the suppliers and distributors we are partnered with will continue to be a positive for Alliance Memory. While there are financial concerns worldwide I believe our partners are not specifically affected and therefore Alliance Memory can continue to confidently provide first class products and quality support to our customers. We thank our customers and partners for our success in 2011 as we achieved over 20% growth. We look forward to continuing to serve your needs and contribute to your success in 2012.
